The Federal Government's Thriving Suburbs Program contributed $2.4 million to the City of Joondalup towards a new pedestrian and cycleway bridge. This will complement the $1m from the Cook Labor Government through Main Roads WA.
The state-of the-art footbridge over Moolanda Boulevard in Kingsley will transform local infrastructure and promote community connectivity. It will make enable people to enjoy local facilities and places in a safer and more accessible way.
The dual-purpose pedestrian and cycleway bridge will provide 2.5km of uninterrupted network of shared pathway access, safely linking the freeway path and connecting residents with five local primary schools, residential and conservation areas, shopping precincts, recreational areas and train stations.

Comments attributed to Minister King, current Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, and Local Government:

"The Thriving Suburbs Program supports local organizations, such as the City of Joondalup, with the funding they need to build better cities and more liveable suburbs.

Investing in the Moolanda Boulevard footbridge will make a real difference for the people of Kingsley and the wider suburbs by supporting community infrastructure, bringing people together and increasing local amenity."
